With COVID case counts ebbing, the indoor massage studio is open again. Please see info below about protocols or contact me with questions. The outdoor tent is also available.
2020 did bring us a lovely opportunity to be grateful for the Spring/Summer experience of outdoor massage! This was well received, and it was an absolute pleasure to conduct bodywork while birds came near, delighted with song, and rain or wind created a soothing environment. It did get hot sometimes, though those few heated days made for a sauna stretch like moment!
Outdoor massage sessions in the tent continue in Spring/Summer! Please select indoor or outdoor at time of scheduling your massage. Masks are optional for you, I will continue to wear mine indoors.
Please contact me with a call or text me for an appointment request. Provide the date and time you would like, and I will send you a confirmation. 631-835-5592. Thank you.
Masks - Are now optional for clients, though I will be wearing mine at all times indoors.
Massage Session Health Questionnaire - is a fully digital form that is completed the day prior or day of your session. Please click here to complete it.
New clients, please bring the printed and completed new client form with you. Click here to find that form. This form is in addition to the digital Health Questionnaire (see above). * At this time, please bring your own water (sorry, COVID-19 implication for now).
Clothing Consideration - The massage treatment utilizes massage oil, and often essential oils, CBD oil or salve and/or an Arnica infused lotion. Please consider this when you select clothing to wear home after the session. If you would like to keep specific items of clothing on during the session, please wear or bring those with you. Undergarments are not required to be worn during the session (though optional), as your privacy will be maintained with sheets and blanket(s) and accessing gluteal, lower spine and hip muscles may be related to your needs.
Paying via Cash, Venmo, or check is preferred. Credit card processing is available as well.
The following protocols are being followed in adherence to guidelines from VOSHA, VT Dept. of Health, CDC, AMTA (American Massage Therapy Association) and my own request/expectations in relation to COVID-19:
* I wear a mask for indoor sessions given close contact environment. Continued hand washing before/after each session.
* Hand sanitizer is available.
* The entire massage table, headrest, door handles, zippers, walls, floor, ledge and product bottles are cleaned immediately after each session.
* All massage products are cleaned before and after each appointment.
* Side table holding massage products and music, as well as the guest seating is cleaned before and after each session.
* Appointments are spaced at minimum 45 mins apart. I see a maximum of 3 people per day. Due to my schedule, I usually can only see 1 to 2 people per day, and about 4-5 people per week. I change clothes for each session. No walk-in appointments are allowed (benefit of not being a store h front location - this doesn't really happen. We are able to contain and maintain much easier).
* All clients will be asked on the day of or day before appointment to verify that they are not aware of experiencing any symptoms within the last 14 days or having been exposed to someone with exhibiting symptoms or diagnosed with COVID in the last 14 days.
* I will maintain a log of customers and their contact information for 30 days in the event contract tracing is required by the Department of Health.
* Disinfected pen will be available for your use - if you need one
* Gift cards will be available in digital format if you choose (regular boxed gift cards will remain available by request). Redeeming gift cards can be done digitally (email or photo) if preferred.
While VT doesn't require a massage license, my formal holistic health education was through the NY College for Health Professionals, which required 1000 hours of hands on work in class and supervised clinical work before sitting for NYS Boards (passed first try and became Licensed in State of NY in 2008). Further, I passed the National Boards in 2008 and yearly complete continuing education to maintain that certification. .
Vaccination is not required to have a massage. I got vaccinated and then naturally boosted by having COVID in February 2022. I don't exclude clients based on their vaccination status, and will not ask for such (that's your medical information that is not required for massage), I continue to wear my mask for the entire appointment indoors. I respect each persons perspective on how they personally choose to manage their health decisions.
You will be asked to complete a health screening to share with me that, to the best of your knowledge, you have not experienced symptoms related to COVID-19 (or other illness that would affect your massage session) or been socializing with anyone experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 within the 2 weeks prior to the date of your massage (much like you may have answered for other health care visits since the onset of the pandemic). I ask that if you have had these symptoms or exposure to reschedule your visit.
Important Notices
While there have been no reported risks of massage immediately after vaccination, there are guidelines for the industry that I am sharing here for my clients choice. If you haven chosen to get a COVID vaccination , it is suggested to wait at least 1 week following your first vaccination and at least two weeks following your second vaccination before receiving a massage. I personally suggest waiting at least one week in addition to the guidelines for each dose. These guidelines are not a requirement, they are your personal choice.
One of the of the possible complications of COVID-19 is coagulopathy or abnormal blood-clotting. Bodywork stimulates the circulation of blood and bodily fluids, putting those with blood conditions or diseases at higher risk for stroke or heart attack. If you have a blood condition, disease, or have experienced stroke or heart attack in the past, please share this information with me prior to receiving bodywork. Via the health screening questionnaire (as aforementioned) you will be asked to acknowledge and agree that you understand the risks of receiving bodywork and the importance of sharing health condition information with your wellness provider.
No, clients are not required to wear masks for the massage session. Masks are optional for clients whether indoors or outdoors. I will be wearing a mask during indoor sessions, and at the request of clients for outdoor sessions.
Experience has shown that many find an outdoor massage to be groovy! And, the open air environment feels more comfortable given our experiences through the pandemic. Yet, if you prefer an indoor setting, the massage studio has 6 windows and is also a safe place for your session.
We are fortunate to have this option with the changing season in addition to open air massage outside.
The massage table can be heated & I am happy to turn it on! Using flannel sheets and extra blankets as needed. A hot stone session can also be selected from the service list.
There is a fan and hopefully gentle breeze when we're in the screened enclosed tent. And, cold stones are really great too!
At this time, the plan is to stay open all winter using the indoor massage studio.
Thank you for your patience and patronage. Please contact me with any questions you have.
Kindly,
Cathy
